JetSmarter the “UberJet”

What a clever and innovative idea. Jetsmarter took the opportunity to fill a need as well as to make full use of untapped resources. And essentially, the business model is an Uber for private jets through the app, through a membership programme – but anyone can sign up if they pay the fees.

Owning and maintaining a private jet or helicopter is prohibitively expensive – not that those who are rich enough to own one would care, but if the resources could be stretched further, why not?

The membership programme fees start from 10,000USD for a year with a one off initiation fees. That’s not too bad if you travel really frequently.

Here’s their proposition:

We built a marketplace for the tens of thousands of idle planes and unused seats on the world’s private jets. We make them available as custom charters or as individual seats – through a simple app.
